"Nouvelle Nuptials" Exhibition

Ojai Studio Artist, Susan Stinsmuehlen-Amend, is currently showing a major piece in the exhibition "Nouvelle Nuptials" at the San Francisco Museum of Craft + Design. Her work, "Wedding Checklist", is composed of fourteen pieces of overlapping clear glass onto which are depicted images suggesting the ominous task of planning a wedding. The work is painted with kiln-fired enamels, an ancient technique most often used in stained glass, a medium with a tradition of narration. The show, curated by Jo Lauria, runs through June 26, 2005. Twenty-five national and regional artists have interpreted the theme of "the wedding" in cutting edge ways through the mediums of craft and design.
