James Menzel-Joseph has a family background that includes both Adolph Menzel, Germany’s most prolific artist of the nineteenth century, and Henri Fantin-Latour, the French Symbolist painter. James first received critical notice at the early age of 15. While on the faculty of The American Academy of Art, he was commissioned to do 30 paintings of Black History in America. When completed, these paintings were exhibited in many cities throughout the US. Represented in group and one-man shows he has won numerous honors and awards.
